Advanced Skills

Advanced Skills Classes are run ongoing and you can attend as often as you'd like. In these classes we cover topics such as:

• Foundation skills with an increase of the three “D’s”, of Distance, Duration and Distraction

• On Lead & Off Lead Heeling

• Stays (Sit, Drop, Stand) from 5, 10 meters and further, for 1, 2 and 5 minutes and longer

• Recalls from 5 to 20 meters

• Dog Distraction (most of these skills are used by Guide Dogs Victoria to teach their dogs not to be distracted when working as a Guide Dog)

• Introduction to Agility Equipment (Weave Poles, Single and Double Jumps, Tunnel,
  Horizontal Ladders, Triple jumps and more)

• Speak (great for teaching apartment dogs to bark softly)

• Quoits (great to work Retriever breeds)

• Skateboard (working dogs like Kelpies and Cattle dogs love this)

• and more!

Class details:

Run weekly

45 minute sessions

Limited to 10 dogs per class

Program cost: $100 joining fee (once off) & $200 per year with $25 per class fee

You and your puppy will receive certificates as you progress through different stages of development.

*Note it is a requirement that your dog has completed K9ET's Foundation Skills Class (or equivalent) before attending.
